I remember the first time we spoke, Lucia and I. I was up late at night sitting on my living room couch all the way over in China, headphones in, sipping on a cup of herbal tea and watching this complete stranger on my phone’s screen. I was so nervous like I was on a blind date with someone who was going to listen you speak about your deepest darkest thoughts. We started with a simple ‘Ciao’ and the rest of our talks just genuinely evolved in the period that followed and that even still to this day never stopped. She has a way of doing things that just put you at total ease with this great ability to reach into you and empathise with your feelings. I am so grateful to whatever forces brought her into my life because she gifted to me, week after week, the tools to understand myself, my pain, my struggles and helped me to discover what in my mind was lost, forgotten and never completely realized or comprehended. She gave me a new perspective to look at with new eyes to analyze my anxieties, worries and fears. It was like she handed me a map and slowly I started to navigate those rocky and steep roads of my inner self and it took a while before I became familiar and comfortable with the path ahead of me.
In the coming weeks, I will share with you her writings that were developed exclusively for ‘The Mother of Nug’ blog in which, chapter by chapter, she helps us to understand our own self, our emotions, why we experience or are affected by post-natal depression and dissipating any possible misconceptions about therapy and its role and aims.
I am so happy to welcome Lucia as a key contributor for the MON family, you can read her bio here and for any questions related to any of her articles regarding post-natal depression, any other perinatal issues or if you would like to ask any particular questions on a specific topic please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be there to virtually support you in the best way possible.
See you next week
With all my nuggy Love,
